They are--that's why we realized about two days in, even as we were searching for "lost owners" that we'd have to keep them. Who could turn them away? (Plus, they're small enough to be moved into assisted living facilities that allow a limited number of pets which is our retirement plan).
BUt, and this is a hoot--they apparently have the self image of HUGE VIOLENT KILLER WARGS, plus, you know, little flower faces.
I took about 15 pictures and got ONE that was not blurred from squiggles, or had SHINY eyes, or both! I was in room, so why was I not paying attention to them!
They may be a mixed terrier breed--but they seem to have all the characteristics of terriers rather than chihuahuas, though, of course, as with any dog, who knows what mysteries lurk in the DNA!
THey can hop and leap amazing distances, and when I have them out walking, if they scent or hear prey, their whole bodies go into OMGHUNT mode, quivering with excitement.
When we enter, we get popcorned (frantic bouncing up and down at knee height until we get down on floor to allow kissies on the face--Sweetpea tends to nose nips as well!)
